Mining & Geotechnical

Understand the ground. Define the decision.

Geotechnical and tailings engineering support for mining projects: investigation, earthworks, design, analysis and risk review. Start with the decision you need to make, the available evidence and the limitations of the site data.

For mine owners, operators, project teams and engineering consultants.

From evidence to decision

Technical depth. Traceable decisions.

An investigation, an audit and a design review answer different questions. We begin by defining the decision, the evidence needed and the responsibilities of everyone involved.

  1. Establish the basis

Confirm the purpose, available information, applicable requirements and the project stage.

  2. Resolve the gaps

Identify the missing evidence, technical interfaces and decisions that affect the scope.

  3. Define the deliverable

Agree the outputs, review process, responsibilities, price basis and next steps in writing.

Assessment basis

Clear about the framework.
Specific about the facility.

We agree the applicable standards, guidance, approvals and assessment scope for each engagement. A gap assessment, a regulatory audit and an independent review have different purposes and reporting requirements.

Your project brief

Bring what you have.
We’ll identify the gaps.

Start with a short summary. Let us agree the document list and transfer method before sending confidential or large files.

Prepare my enquiry ↗
  1. Project or facility name, location and your role
  2. The technical question and the decision it supports
  3. Project stage and required deliverables
  4. Available drawings, reports and investigation data
  5. Deadline, site access and document confidentiality requirements

Common questions

Before we begin.

Do I need to send the full technical archive initially?

No. Begin with a short description, the document types available and the decision required. We can agree a document list and an appropriate transfer method before you share confidential records.

Can you review an existing design or report?

Describe the review purpose, the documents available and the required level of review. The scope, relevant experience, independence requirements and deliverables need to be agreed before the engagement starts.

How are mining services priced?

The proposal is developed from the agreed tasks, deliverables, available information, site requirements and review effort. Mining and tailings work is not priced using a generic building area rate.

Does an initial discussion provide engineering approval?

No. A project-specific assessment requires appropriate information, an agreed scope and professional review. Any formal review, assurance or sign-off role must be explicitly agreed.
